Living in Harmony with Nature

Today about 56% of the population lives in cities and this figure continues to grow. People tend to go to megacities in order to feel at the center of events and have more opportunities for self-realization. Because of this, large cities increasingly resemble a human anthill. At the same time, many people want their house to be a place for rest and tranquility, where we feel safe. Unfortunately, cities are not famous for their harmony with nature. In the minds of most people, these are two different realities that practically do not intersect. We are firmly convinced that everything depends on us!

Let's figure out why unity with nature is so important and whether it is possible to learn to live in harmony with nature even in a noisy metropolis. Useful habits that will help you learn to live in harmony with nature:

You are what you eat

A city dweller has a huge abundance in the choice of food. Store shelves are filled with food of different shapes, colors, sizes, smells and tastes. But with proper nutrition for some reason it is difficult. The popularity of semi-finished products and fast food is growing at lightning speed. And in order to understand the composition of the products and the influence of the production method on the benefit of the finished dish, it takes time, which is always so lacking.

If you want to eat natural food, but don't spend too much time choosing, farmers' markets can be a salvation. In most cities, you can find places where local summer residents gather to sell goods, usually on weekends. This is a great opportunity to stock up on fresh, 100% environmentally friendly products, as well as to support local farmers, who usually find it difficult to compete with large national chains.

Optimize your transport

We all know about the harm of cars to the environment, but personal comfort seems to be more important than ecology and polluted air. But there are also better ways to get from point A to point B (for example, using public transport). The more people on the bus, the fewer cars on the road, and accordingly — less traffic jams.

Another great way to save money on trips and reduce the negative impact on the environment is car sharing. Along the way, you can drop off neighbors or friends. After all, traveling in a company is cheaper and more fun, and sometimes sharing a car allows you to find like-minded people and friends!

Take a thoughtful approach to buying clothes

It's hard to imagine, but today we buy 400% more clothes than 20 years ago. This is a consequence of a real problem, which is called fast fashion. On average, we wear something for less than a year, as fashion trends change every season. Thanks to fast fashion, 13 million tons of clothes are thrown out every year, and only 15% of it is recycled.

The consequences of such overproduction are monstrous, especially if we take into account the fact that on average 2,700 liters of water are used to produce one T-shirt. What can we do about it? If you want to learn how to live in harmony with nature, consume according to the principle "less is better".

Buy only the clothes that you will definitely wear! Define your style: what is comfortable for you, and what is inconvenient? For example, if you most often wear comfortable and concise clothes of neutral shades, you should not take bright, pretentious things, even if they are very beautiful and very becoming to you. After all, most likely they will just gather dust in the closet.

Switch to clothes made of natural fabrics. Clothes from the mass market quickly fall into disrepair, often after several washings, the appearance of a new blouse becomes absolutely unpresentable. A good investment in the wardrobe will be clothes made of natural fabrics. For comparison, materials such as cotton and linen can serve you for many years without losing their beautiful appearance. In addition, things made of linen, cotton and silk look more stylish.

And finally, find a convenient way for yourself to get rid of unnecessary things (it can be recycling, resale, reuse or donation). A thoughtful approach to the purchase and disposal of clothes helps to avoid the accumulation of unnecessary things and protects nature.

As Gandhi said, "Be the change you want to see in the world." We hope you understand why Tintory is all about linen. We all should contribute to the creation of the environment. Let's make sure that it is always positive! And we will try to be in harmony with nature — despite the fact that we live in cities. A lifestyle in harmony with nature is a dream that can be turned into reality.
